Artist bio

Linda originally trained in graphic design, working in advertising during the 70s. Later, her love of colour, pattern, fabric and fibre led her to further education at Curtin University, where she completed a BA (Hons) in Art with a Fibre/Textile Major in 1999.

Since then, Linda has set up a home studio where she continues to explore print and dye, along with machine embroidery and fabric manipulation techniques. Linda has been involved in the Armadale Hills Open Studio Arts Trail from the first year & also exhibits and teaches textile workshops.

“Colour, texture and pattern are important in my work and I love the tactile quality of textiles. My inspiration often comes from nature. Drawing or photos from my Roleystone bush environment may begin my creative process, along with collecting and using many techniques and materials. I enjoy the idea of making something special from offcuts or found fabrics while reducing waste going to landfill. My work ranges from framed works, art quilts/wall hangings to scarves, bags and purses, cushions, cards etc etc
