King Arthur
The fountain carving of King Arthur, dating from 1385-1396, is a remarkable piece of Gothic artistry located in Nuremberg, Germany. This carving is part of the "Beautiful Fountain" (Schöner Brunnen), a 19-meter-tall masterpiece situated in the city's main market square.
Designed by Heinrich Beheim, the fountain features intricate stone figures that represent the worldview of the Holy Roman Empire, including legendary and historical figures such as King Arthur.
King Arthur's depiction in this fountain symbolizes the ideals of chivalry, leadership, and heroism that resonated deeply during the medieval period.
This artist is happy to accept commissions.
