Dot Marshall

Dot has belonged to the society since 2002 and has been active on the committee since then,  she was president for many years, before that treasurer then vice president and is enjoying being involved with a great group of people, and takes great delight in passing on her ideas to anyone who attends her classes and workshops, mainly at the ARt House. she believes that art is to share and that includes any techniques and ideas. She has run workshops in the country and the metro area, also judged many exhibitions both in the country and metro.

They have been a great help to her since retiring from a very busy life in business. She has now been able to unlock a passion for art that has been hidden since she left art college (a long time ago!)

On leaving school in England she attended Taunton College of Art, where she studied design and drawing. After getting married and having a family her art took a back seat, she moved to Australia in 1972 and started a business with her husband, art was still on the back seat ! After retiring a few years ago she has been able to unlock her passion for art again, starting with acrylics and pastels. She also enjoys watercolour but her love is mixed media collage, its very exciting! Dot has had many solo and joint exhibitions, at her frst solo exhibition she sold 80% of her paintings and has continued having a lot of success at every exhibition that she has taken part in. she has paintings in U.K., America, Japan, New Zeland, Ireland, and of course Australia.

She says

'I hope I will never want to stop learning, I feel alive and free when I am painting, I only wish I had the time to have started painting again earlier. My advise to anyone with even the slightest urge to paint and draw is DO IT NOW!'I hope you enjoy looking at our paintings, and know that they are painted with  lots of love.

She has her own website at www.dotmarshall.com and her work can also be seen at all of the Society exhibitions.
