Willemina was born in the Netherlands and came to Australia in 1953. She has been drawing and painting all her life, taught at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, was illustrator for the Publications Branch (Education Department) and art writer/course developer for Distance Education. Her art writing has been published in "The Artists’ Chronicle" and NAGC's "Gifted and Talented" (UK).

Qualifications: BA (Fine Arts), B Ed, Grad Dip Fine Arts, CTEFLA.

After completing 3 degrees, she studied and researched the teaching of drawing to adults in the Post Grad Ed (Edith Cowan) course. This study has become invaluable in running her drawing classes.

Willemina draws and paints in various media and enjoys printmaking. Subject matter comes from her environment and deals with the interrelatedness of life and just ‘being’. Thus, the work is metaphysical but aesthetics is very important. She believes art should delight the senses and feed the soul.

She has exhibited widely in Perth, Sydney, the Netherlands and New York, has won numerous first prizes and currently teaches teens and adults in her Southern River studio. Some of her earliest work can be seen at Bunbury Regional Gallery.
