Vicky Alchin

I was born in the UK.

My love for art became apparent at a very early age, as I child wherever I went I had a pencil and sketchbook in my hand.

I studied at Kent institute of art and design and Grays School of Art in Aberdeen where I gained a bachelor of Art.

I immigrated to Australia in 1999 with my husband. Raising our three children became my priority and unfortunately art was put on the back burner. Once my youngest child became less dependent on me I decided it was time to reignite my passion for art and joined the Art Society in 2015. What a whirlwind it has been!

In my short time with the Society I have learnt so much from our wonderful teachers and am now teaching myself, as well as being a member of the committee.

I now devote as much time as possible to my artwork, I especially love painting with watercolour, mixed media and acrylics. I have a fondness for painting wildlife.

I am fortunate enough to live in beautiful Bedfordale where I am surrounded by inspiration and am currently building my own studio, where eventually I hope to run classes and workshops. I currently teach a watercolour class at Art House on Hobbs every second Tuesday afternoon.

You can see more of my art on my website or on my Facebook page
