Ian Kallas

I studied commercial art in Essex England for two years in the early sixties obtaining my general certificate of education. Regrettably I did not pursue a career in art but the passion was always there. I came to Australia in 1974 with my wife & two children. My career here was in nursing at RPH with the latter years working in cardiology as a cardiac technician. I took an early retirement in 2003.

My yearning to paint watercolours finally came to fruition at the end of 2009 under the tutelage of watercolour artist Kate Petty. I only paint with watercolours and my subjects are varied. I am inspired by artist's Joseph Zbukvic & Alvaro Castagnet.

In  May 2010 I had a joint exhibition at the Liveringa Art Gallery in Pinjarra which was quite successful.

As well as being a member of the Armadale Society of Artists I am also a member of The Watercolour Society of WA
