Helen Cockburn

Helen grew up in an environment, no doubt influenced by her mother, an accomplished artist in her own right , (and who still actively paints at the age of 98!).  After successfully completing "Leaving" art at high school, she completed  several units in a part time art Diploma course at "Tech", but formal art studies unfortunately gave way to pursuing a career and raising a family. However the seeds were sown and when the opportunity arose in later life, she soon reverted to type and pursued her favourite hobby with enthusiasm.

She has attended some inspirational workshops  over the years, and found that not only  has she learned from others by attending these workshops, but has found that they further kindled her interest and enthusiasm to achieve higher standards.  Helen loves watercolours, but also gets both inspiration and satisfaction from working with mixed media, inks and acrylics.  She also enjoys developing her own techniques in abstract and semi abstract works.

Helen is a founding member of the Armadale Society of Artists, and has  served on it's committee in various roles and has never failed to exhibit at their annual art show. She is also a member of the Water Colour Society of WA.
